Hi, I’m Jade.

I help adults who are dealing with anxiety, depression, chronic illness, and/or parenting struggles to find strategies to lessen their stress and overwhelm so they can make time for themselves and enjoy the things that are important to them so they feel excited about living the life they want.

I provide a space where you can feel comfortable opening up and expressing the thoughts, feelings, and emotions that you are struggling with. If what you are going through makes you feel like there is not a light at the end of the tunnel or there is no way to make things better, we can work together to lighten your overwhelm, create hope, and find ways for you to feel connected to life you want.

MY APPROACH TO THERAPY

In the beginning of therapy, there will be a few things we will focus on, such as building a relationship and a space where you feel comfortable, respected, accepted, and supported so you can extend some trust in my ability to help and care for you. We can take it slow, at your pace, so you can develop a sense of comfort and security and a willingness to open up whenever you are ready.

During this time, I will inquire about what your life values are, what your ideal life would look like, what has led to you to seek therapy, and what you are hoping to take away from our time together.

As a therapist, my goal is to offer and provide a helpful and supportive relationship where we can successfully collaborate on your goals while helping you work through the difficult thoughts, emotions, feelings, and overall challenges you are experiencing.

When we are in a session together we can focus on whatever you need and want to work on that day — the floor will be completely yours. What I mean by this is that, you are free to talk about whatever you need to in a confidential space where you will feel heard, cared for, and supported. Working together to problem solve and find solutions, challenge unhelpful beliefs, reduce a distressing issue or concern, develop a greater understanding of yourself, or increase your coping skills are some of the processes and goals we can work towards.

WHAT I HOPE TO PROVIDE THROUGH COUNSELING AND THERAPY

My hope is to provide you with a space and relationship that is full of trust and respect which can allow you to feel comfortable sharing and discussing your past, your current struggles, and your goals and hopes for the future.

I believe that each one of us has the inner potential and strength to reach our life goals. However, sometimes we get sidetracked or something in our life that is unwanted pushes us off course. It is during these times that we need added support through counseling and therapy to help us refocus and renew so we can reconnect with what and who is most important in our lives. When we are in-tune with those things, it helps us begin to grow and heal.

Reaching out for help is a sign of great strength. I would be honored to have the opportunity to work with you, helping you make needed changes that will allow you to have the life that you have always wanted.

COUNSELING FOR ADULTS

Do you find yourself feeling overwhelmed and struggling to fulfill all of your roles and responsibilities to the level that you would like to or think you are expected to? The pressure to excel as a partner, parent, employee, student, or adult child can often lead to feelings of depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, and, overall, feeling unfulfilled. Do you sometimes fear that people are judging you and you don’t feel you are enough no matter how hard you try? If this is happening for you and you feel exhausted, confused, overwhelmed, and don’t think life should be so difficult, let’s work together to change that.

If you are feeling depressed, stuck in that negative belief and fear cycle that anxiety brings, or you are overwhelmed and don’t know how to make the necessary changes you need, counseling and therapy can help. We can help you begin to feel capable and confident so you can face and change the things that are causing you the most distress.

Therapy can help you begin to doubt those negative and inner critic thoughts that cause you to feel worse or cause you more and more worry and fear. Together we can help you decide what you want to believe and help re-evaluate who you are, what you want in life, what you need in relationships, and where you are going in life. We can help you develop new coping skills, reduce your stress, and connect to what is important to you, all which can be life changing. Deepening your insight and expanding your self-compassion about what is blocking you from moving forward will make a huge difference. If this is what you are hoping to do and looking to receive support with, I’d be honored to help you navigate it.

MY PROFESSIONAL JOURNEY

From when I was in high school, I knew that I wanted to be a part of a helping profession. Helping others was something that always came naturally to me, and the feeling of lightening another person’s load or empowering them to remember the strength within themself was something that has always given me great joy. Through discovering that the field of social work is always extremely short-staffed, I decided that I would become a social worker. In both my undergraduate and graduate schooling, I majored in social work with specialties in substance abuse, addiction, and healthcare.

Before joining Health and Healing Therapy, I previously provided individual counseling and group therapy in an outpatient substance abuse treatment and mental health counseling center. In addition, at a community mental health center I provided community support and counseling services to adults struggling with major depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, and other severe mental illnesses. Currently, along with providing counseling and therapy to adults at Health and Healing Therapy, I provide individual counseling, family counseling services, and other supportive services for adults who are living with a chronic illness.

MY COMMITMENT TO YOU

I am someone who considers themself a lifelong learner. I have always loved to learn, and that passion has only continued to grow as I have gotten older. I continually gather new information through readings, clinical trainings, and discussions with other clinicians so that I can remain as up to date on evidence-based clinical practices as possible. It is important to me that I continue to grow my knowledge base as a clinician so that I am able to provide my clients with the best possible care that is best suited to their individual needs. I am aware of the honor that it is to work with you, and I recognize the need to continue to grow and develop in order to best serve you.
