Jyotsna Raina, MSW

Accepting new clients

Hi, I’m Jyotsna.

I provide counseling and therapy services to children, pre-teens, adults, parents, and families. I believe we often need someone we can talk to and someone who is willing to listen to us without judgment.

It takes courage to open the door to change and I am proud of you to consider doing it – this is a huge step and I’d be honored to support you through it. Wherever you are, is exactly where we can start.

Together we can work toward understanding how your current and past experiences have and do impact you and while helping you develop the skills that will ease your emotional distress, improve your relationships, and help you create the life you want.

Therapy Approach

I specialize in working with people who struggle with anxiety, depression, ADHD, past abuse, relationship conflicts, self-worth, low-confidence, attachment issues, social skills, and life transitions.

I have had the opportunity to work with and  support children, parents, and families for the past 10 years. Just as I have assisted them,  I welcome the opportunity to support you in your process toward healing, growth, and change. My therapy style is warm, empathetic, open, and optimistic whereas my approach is strengths-based and client-centered. I will do my best to create a shared space for you that feels collaborative, trusting, nonjudgmental, and supportive of your personal growth.

I will integrate counseling approaches from various evidence-based treatments that are proven to help people decrease their anxiety and depression while increasing their coping abilities and change capacity. Some of these counseling practices include Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Play Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Mindfulness. Throughout your care I will incorporate many different styles and therapy interventions and we will find what works best for you.

I would like to help you develop the tools necessary to build resilience, feel empowered to find the best solutions for your concerns, while making changes and decisions that align with your values, abilities, and goals.

I welcome you to the practice and to the therapy process.

Interests, Passions, & Fun Facts about Jyotsna

In my free time, I love spending time with my family, cooking for my family, going for nature walks, taking care of my indoor plants, and listening to music and podcasts. We love to travel and explore different places, cuisines, and cultures.

I have two kids, a teen, and a pre-teen, who are both active in sports and extracurricular activities. We enjoy watching and cheering for them and I enjoy watching Friday night movies with my daughter. I have more than 15 years of experience working with children in different roles – as a teacher, as a social worker, and as a mother.

One quote I love:

“Asking for help isn’t weak, it’s a great example of how to take care of yourself.”

– Charlie Brown
